Karen takes a holistic approach to therapy addressing the mind, body, and spirit to support health and healing. She believes that clients are the experts in their own lives and their own best healers when given the appropriate tools and supportive environment. Her role is to partner with clients to explore what is keeping them from their goals in a safe, and nurturing environment. Karen utilizes many different therapeutic approaches such as cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, movement, art, and play therapies to help clients increase self-awareness, develop positive coping strategies, and build resilience.
Karen completed her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology at Bethel University. She is on track for licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and is working under supervision at Serenity Circle Counseling. She has experience with children, adolescents, adults, and families in residential, school and college settings. She conducts the majority of her sessions in person in our Isanti location; telehealth sessions may be available on an as needed basis.
