Sean Fields, PsyD, LP is a licensed clinical psychologist, holds a doctorate degree in clinical psychology and a masters degree in marriage and family therapy.
He primarily works with violence and trauma survivors of all ages, utilizing methods and techniques derived from Eye Movement, Desensitization, and Reprocessing (E.M.D.R.), Clinical Hypnosis, Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), and Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP). Sean also serves couples and families, drawing upon IFS, the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy, and Theraplay to support couples and families along their healing journey.
Sean believes that all individuals, couples, and families have the innate ability to heal, and often simply need the appropriate environment and support to achieve growth and healing. As a therapist, Sean believes that by helping to create a therapeutic environment that promotes interpersonal safety while incorporating the appropriate intervention, we increase our capacity to experience the curative emotional experiences that encourage better mental health and well-being.
Sean currently has a waiting list for services. He sees ages 5 and up and accepts the following insurances: Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Health Partners, Medica Labor Care, Medica MN Preferred, Medica Select Care, Medical Assistance (MA), Preferred One, South Country Health Alliance, Tricare West, United Behavioral Health (UBH) Commercial Plan, Ucare (not Ucare Fairview plans), and United Health Care, as well as self pay.
