Kayla is currently completing a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Bethel University. She received her Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Minnesota Duluth in Psychology with a minor in Early Childhood Studies. With a background in child mental health, she prioritizes integrating developmentally appropriate interventions to best fit the individual needs of each client and family.
Her therapeutic approach is led through a holistic lens as she believes mind, body, and spirit are interconnected to form an individual’s overall wellbeing. She is passionate about supporting young minds by providing clients with the tools to navigate the hills and valleys of everyday life along with various life transitions they may encounter. Along with supporting the child, Kayla values the importance of incorporating caregivers into the therapeutic process. By offering psychoeducation and supportive resources, Kayla equips caregivers with information needed to better understand and respond to their child’s needs outside of the therapy room.
Kayla is an intern working under the supervision of Deanna Austin, MA, LMFT.

Compared to seasoned therapists who may have full caseloads or long waitlists, interns often have more open slots and flexible scheduling.
Interns are passionate about helping others and committed to their professional development. You'll be working with someone who is highly motivated and attentive to your needs.
All interns receive supervision from licensed therapists, meaning your care benefits from both your intern’s attention and their supervisor’s expertise.
Interns are trained in the most up-to-date, evidence-based practices and bring a modern perspective to therapy.
By working with an intern, you play a role in shaping a new therapist’s career while receiving meaningful support for your own growth
Interns typically offer services at reduced rates, making therapy more accessible.
